Prioritize student needs, listen to educators, and center equity in every discussion.
Hi, nice to meet you
As a first-generation high school and college graduate and a child of immigrants
who attended school until the 4th grade, I believe in the promise of education being an equalizer. I am a proud product of public education. I am also a union leader, social justice advocate, and volunteer in my community.
I am running for Kent School Board Director to continue the important work I started since my appointment in February 2021. For the last few months, I have worked to prioritize student needs, hear educators, and center equity in every discussion.
I want to continue to make Kent School District the best district it can be. I humbly ask for your vote.
Joseph (Joe) Bento, he/him/his, is a CTE teacher from Kent, WA. He has been involved in safe schools trainings for the last 18 years including his work as an NEA (National Education Association) trainer on Social Justice and LGBTQ issues.
